Energy Security April 22 2015, 0 Comments

Energy security is one of the main targets of energy policy. However, the term has not been clearly defined, which makes it hard to measure and difficult to balance against other policy objectives. However a common concept behind all energy security definitions is the absence of, protection from or adaptability to threats that are caused by or have an impact on the energy supply chain. Further it is difficult to assess and measure all identified threats at the same time so limits are often placed along several dimensions: the sources of risk, the scope of the impact measure, and the speed, size, sustention, spread, singularity or sureness of impacts.

Shared Concepts in 2015 April 21 2015, 0 Comments

[sharedconcepts]

Historically we have published our concept maps individually on our two blogs at Informed Opinion and Business in Context. We then archived them at the end of the year and made them available as eBooks that could be downloaded by users. Last year we started a pilot project with a group of our users whereby we changed to a monthly newsletter that included the concept maps and a small amount of commentary. That was very successful and hence we have decided to embrace that model for 2015 and beyond.

We have two FREE newsletters: Informed Opinion (aimed at providing context to major social issues) and Business in Context (aimed at providing context to business specific issues). We also have a series of Assessment Modules due for releae later in the year focused on business issues and finally a range of eBooks currently schedule for publication mid to late 2015.

We trust that you will enjoy our new format and please keep your comments coming, we have listened and hopefully changed our business model to the benefit of all concerned.
